Participant in the spotlight: KP Holland

KP Holland is active in the breeding, propagation and production of three product groups: Curcuma, Kalanchoe and Spathiphyllum. KP Holland is also co-founder of Breeding Accel and has been a proud partner in this collaboration for 15 years. Time to get to know them better!

Why Breeding Accel?
Leo de Vries, Managing Director: "At KP Holland, we strongly believe in the power of cooperation between like-minded breeding companies. The participating companies work in non-competing crops, which creates an open culture and focused knowledge sharing. For example: one brings knowledge about Marker Assisted Selection, while another excels in phenotyping. The cross-pollination as a result is enormously valuable!"

Operational cooperation
This cross-pollination is not limited to just breeding: the companies also actively seek each other out in the areas of tissue culture propagation and product management. This strengthens the collective cooperation and accelerates innovation.

Working on the future
KP Holland is working hard on varieties that grow naturally compact and require less crop protection. They are also fully committed to data-driven breeding and applying Estimated Breeding Values, in order to make even more effective choices in breeding strategy.

Come and meet us!
During the FlowerTrials, June 10 to 13, KP Holland will show assortment innovations in all three product groups and ask for your feedback on new test varieties. Fellow companies Schoneveld Breeding and Royal van Zanten are also participating in the FlowerTrials. Feel welcome!
